New episode of the Yokoi Kids Audio Thing! Hosted by Rick and Ian. They talk about all the games that I didn’t do episodes for. Those being Gremlins 2, TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan, Qix, Wario Land 2. We also talk about a bunch of other stuff. Savor it! This will be the last episode like this. It ain’t perfect! Featuring music by Josh Adams.
Or search for it on Itunes.
Sloppy little comic I drew at work. Note: Don’t ever assume that a Bic marker is a okay substitute for a Sharpee. That business smears like crazy. -RV
Rick V. is a Yokoi Kid and he draws comics, records podcasts and volunteers at a video store in Bloomington IN.
Eric Goodrich is a wild weirdo and you can check him out on Twitter.
Drink a Beer and Play a Game are two friends, Jim and Brian, who enjoy talking about games as much as they enjoy trying new beers.
This month’s game is Qix. It’s one of the many ports of the 1981 Taito arcade game of the same name. You are an unnamed shape making Stixs to block in the Qix. There are sometimes Sparx that try to mess up your Stix that block in the Qix.
It’s pretty easy game to pick up and get really caught up in. Do you just make one big ol’ Stix? Or do you make a bunch of tiny blocks so you can get over 90% percent of the screen filled? Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, hopefully you will soon.
This game was picked by Jim from Drink A Beer and Play a Game. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“Growing up I always played games like Qix on my friend’s Windows95 Gateway. Little did I know 20 years later I’d buy it on a whim and wind up loving it more than I did even then.”
The game is dirt cheap and very common. So pick it up and tell us what you think. Or submit something Qix related. Do whatever you want people!
And of course it’s not too late to submit stuff about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan.
